Strippers are getting younger
Guest speaker touts stripping to 8th grade girls. Wow. I have Yahoo as my home page because the news screener who selects which AP stories to run on in their little "In the News" box does a great job (as this link attests). Don't overlook this nugget of a quote: "He really focused on finding what you really love to do," said Mariah Cannon, 13. Nice. Plus, she only has to add an 's' to have a perfect stripper name.

I happen to be a good friend of Mariah Cannon, and I would like to set the story straight. We are now prestigious Gunn students and we agree, that Mr. Fried's presentation has in no way affected our decision for our career paths later in life. The point Mariah was trying to convey was that everyone should be able to pursue any career they please, including “exotic dancing”. Mr. Fried was did not state that prostitution was an ideal career path, but that as young students we have a multitude of job options available. I am discouraged that this story has been twisted to say that my friend, Mariah, supported protitution, for that is in no way her views on the matter.
